Labor Day Recipes: Whipped Deviled Eggs

We share our favorite recipes to create happy guests on Labor Day.

Deviled eggs are a traditional favorite for any holiday. These are a great appetizer to keep your guests happy while awaiting the main course.

Sure, your vegan friends may not be to happy, but your meat eaters will come back for seconds and thirds of this savory snack.

Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • green onion

  • cayenne pepper

  • *(optional) bacon bits

Recipe

  1. Fill a large pot halfway with water and boil.

  2. Once water is boiling, add eggs to pot (if you have a smaller pot, you will only want to do a few eggs at a time. If you put too many eggs, they may slam into each other and break before they are cook. ) Allow to cook for 10 mins, then turn off pot and remove eggs from water using a large metal spoon or tongs. Place eggs in a strainer and rinse under cool water. Set aside and allow to cool.

  3. Once eggs have cooled, crack eggs and delicately remove egg shells and discard.

  4. Slice eggs down the middle vertically from the top of the egg to the bottom. Using a spoon, scoop out egg yolk and place in medium bowl. Set remainder of egg aside on a plate. Repeat process for all 12 eggs.
